About Revival In Mass
Helping people across Massachusetts find a church and connect with a local congregation.
Revival In Mass shares a verse of Scripture every day and brings the churches of Massachusetts together in one place. Our map lists 2,382 churches across the state, from the largest city parishes to small country chapels, so anyone can find a congregation close to home.
Where the information comes from
Church names, locations and details come from OpenStreetMap, a free map of the world built by volunteers. We refresh it regularly. Where a church’s denomination isn’t recorded, we sometimes work it out from the church’s name.
When OpenStreetMap has no website for a church, we look for one with Brave Search and check that the site names the church and its town before we list it.
Every week we read each church’s own website for its service times, pastors and contact details. A computer reads them, not a person, so it can miss things or misread an unusual page; each church page links to the page the details came from. Our reader identifies itself as RevivalInMassBot, follows each site’s robots.txt and reads only a few pages. We’re working on upcoming events next.
Is something missing or wrong?
Service times and pastors come from the church’s own website, so the best fix is to update that website: we’ll pick up the change within a week. Plain text like “Sunday Worship 10:00 AM” reads best; times shown only in a picture or a PDF can’t be read.
For everything else, the quickest way to fix a listing today is on OpenStreetMap. Your change will show up here after our next refresh.
- Open the church’s page here and follow the “correct it on OpenStreetMap” link at the bottom.
- If your church isn’t on the map at all, you can add it to OpenStreetMap.
Soon, church leaders will be able to claim their church’s page here and keep their times, staff and events up to date themselves.
